Playing for the same team

Sports are one of the greatest pass time for man, so when we think of it, we think of hardcore physically difficult and masculine all-man game. Even though there are many female athletes, men have dominated the sports and athletic industry. But one debatable flaw of sports is the exclusion of gay sports players. In football history, the word “Gay” used to be banned, because at the time, people believed it emasculates the spirit of the game, and even the thought of having a Homosexual player would weaken the team. And that’s why whenever a gay athlete would want to take his skills to a professional level; he or she would have to keep it hidden from the other players and the Media’s knowledge.

There has also been verbal and non-verbal abuse to past players, such as Sol Campbell, the arrogance of people towards him started when the media stirred up a rumor of his sexual preferences to probably shame him just to get a good story. One similar case that got out of hand was a suicide by an ex-football player named Justin Fashinu, he decided to end his life when his fans and the media verbally abused him just because he hid a long time fact about his sexuality.

One of the biggest reasons why homosexuals are frowned upon in the field of sports is probably because of the very broad audience. They are the ones who we could accuse for the hatred towards gay players, because they find it unusual and unnatural for a player to be Gay Man.

A possible reason for gay players being rejected from a team is because the other team players wouldn’t probably like the thought of one of their team mates checking them out while in the locker room. But a person wouldn’t want to be an expert in some sport just so that he could get with some athlete, this opinion that has been thought of to be true really is something to laugh at, because as an example, a straight man wouldn’t want to have sex with any girl who would pass them on the street, so why should gay men be any different? That’s the thing, their not. If a gay man wants to go and get rowdy with another man, he would go and search around the internet, not join some football team.

A good thing that is happening is that times are changing, and there is actually an All Gay football team that has been winning in professional football games in the EURO tournaments.
